Out of all the days of the year that could have been chosen, Biden’s overlords chose Easter Sunday, the most sacred day of remembrance for those who follow Jesus. Without Jesus’ resurrection there is no Christianity. Period.

Actually, according to the article you posted, those guidelines aren't new and weren't put in place by the White House. The contest has been sponsored by America's Egg Farmers, an industry marketing-lobbying group, for over 45 years, in partnership with the White House. Those guidelines are in place due to federal law covering marketing of agricultural commodities in general, because this is essentially an egg marketing event, and the guidelines have not changed this year, or this administration. They were in place under Trump as well, and many before him.
Per the Fox article, "The rules appear to mirror ones that govern a longstanding contest held by the American Egg Board in which one military child's decorated egg is present to the First Lady. Selected designs will be painted by artists on real eggs and displayed at the White House."

The only difference under Biden is that instead of limiting the contest to choosing one design which is painted on an egg and given to the First Lady by America's Egg Farmers, this year they will choose more winners to be displayed around the White House.
And here's an explanation from the Egg Board President that discussed the laws around marketing that they have to follow, always, and thus have written into their contest rules for nearly five decades. It also pretty much admits that the whole thing really has always just been a way for them to sell more eggs:

Just curious, I know the Easter Egg Roll is an annual event. Do you know if the White House invites kids to submit art every year, and if so, are those requirements new this year? I absolutely agree with you on this. And their goal is to keep people upset and off-balance. Much of what they do is absolute non-sense, designed for no other reason than that. Except that this "Day of Visibility" is an annual event that has fallen on March 31 every year since 2009, and Biden has issued Presidential proclamations every year for it since 2021. (In fact it appears this post inadvertantly copy-pasted last year's proclamation). And, the date was chosen by the activists who started the tradition 15 years ago, not by anyone in government. Do I think a Presidential proclamation is necessary? No. But, that could be said for the majority of such proclamations that come from the White House every year in every administration.

The word "visibility" is interesting. Probably for most of us, trans people are not *seen* because there are not very many of them, or they are at least not parading around in our neighborhoods. Honestly though, the egg hunts like you mentioned, the baskets, the candy, the creepy-looking human "bunnies" showing up in malls to take pictures with kids, the Easter chicks and rabbits (many of whom end up abandoned within days or weeks)... Those all are the bigger distractions, to me. You're right. Last year it fell on Saturday. The outrage is that he has made this statement that it is being remembered on Easter Sunday. It's being compared to Trump making a statement remembering Jesus death and resurrection. Also, children submitting Easter egg designs to the White House cannot have Christian themes. I always feel like people who try to embellish or leave out relevant context are actually cheapening their own point, because then it looks like it's just puffery instead of a valid argument. And when it looks like a nakedly manipulative political message, people just throw out the whole thing. It drives me NUTS when people have to spoil a perfectly good point or fact by trying to pump it with false statements. All they're doing is throwing their original point right down the drain. Completely agree. I always appreciate my "editors", my readers. For me, I started noticing this trend of caring about feelings more than facts a few years ago when people started posting sayings by famous people, like something Benjamin Franklin had said and they read it on the internet, so they posted it, because it was so "beautiful" and so "true" and it agreed with how they felt about something. But it was usually obvious reading the quote that the person (i.e. B Franklin) didn't say because people didn't talk like that back then. If I pointed it out, people would get offended. What did it matter if he didn't actually say it? It's something he WOULD have said. No, it isn't. It's something that fit their agenda, so they didn't care if it was true or not. What does it matter if we change a few words, where's the harm if it makes us feel good? It was a worrying trend back then, and I can see now I was right to be worried.

Actually, according to the article you posted, those guidelines aren't new and weren't put in place by the White House. The contest has been sponsored by America's Egg Farmers, an industry marketing-lobbying group, for over 45 years, in partnership with the White House. Those guidelines are in place due to federal law covering marketing of agricultural commodities in general, because this is essentially an egg marketing event, and the guidelines have not changed this year, or this administration. They were in place under Trump as well, and many before him.
Per the Fox article, "The rules appear to mirror ones that govern a longstanding contest held by the American Egg Board in which one military child's decorated egg is present to the First Lady. Selected designs will be painted by artists on real eggs and displayed at the White House."
" American Egg Board President and CEO Emily Metz represents America’s egg farmers. She told Fox News Digital after publication of this article that for the past 47 years they’ve partnered with the White House."
The only difference under Biden is that instead of limiting the contest to choosing one design which is painted on an egg and given to the First Lady by America's Egg Farmers, this year they will choose more winners to be displayed around the White House.
And here's an explanation from the Egg Board President that discussed the laws around marketing that they have to follow, always, and thus have written into their contest rules for nearly five decades. Except that this "Day of Visibility" is an annual event that has fallen on March 31 every year since 2009, and Biden has issued Presidential proclamations every year for it since 2021. (In fact it appears this post inadvertantly copy-pasted last year's proclamation). And, the date was chosen by the activists who started the tradition 15 years ago, not by anyone in government. Do I think a Presidential proclamation is necessary? No. But, that could be said for the majority of such proclamations that come from the White House every year in every administration.

You're right. Last year it fell on Saturday. The outrage is that he has made this statement that it is being remembered on Easter Sunday. It's being compared to Trump making a statement remembering Jesus death and resurrection. Also, children submitting Easter egg designs to the White House cannot have Christian themes. If you don't see it as an attack on Christianity then that's your perspective. I am really against the push for transgenderism that this administration is doing. I write so much about it, I just find it quite horrible, especially the brainwashing of children. This legitimizes something that isn't true, that people can change their gender. You are absolutely right. Some people don't like to hear it but I've written a lot about the responsibility we all share for not standing up and speaking out for so long. One thing I know is that we are a drug culture and we love our drugs and that's how they got so many people to accept such abuses to their bodies. It goes back a long way. I always feel like people who try to embellish or leave out relevant context are actually cheapening their own point, because then it looks like it's just puffery instead of a valid argument. And when it looks like a nakedly manipulative political message, people just throw out the whole thing. It drives me NUTS when people have to spoil a perfectly good point or fact by trying to pump it with false statements. All they're doing is throwing their original point right down the drain. (Not saying that's what you did or do, Karen. This is just a long-building rant on Internet and media in general.)
Completely agree. I always appreciate my "editors", my readers. For me, I started noticing this trend of caring about feelings more than facts a few years ago when people started posting sayings by famous people, like something Benjamin Franklin had said and they read it on the internet, so they posted it, because it was so "beautiful" and so "true" and it agreed with how they felt about something. But it was usually obvious reading the quote that the person (i.e. B Franklin) didn't say because people didn't talk like that back then. If I pointed it out, people would get offended. What did it matter if he didn't actually say it? It's something he WOULD have said. No, it isn't. It's something that fit their agenda, so they didn't care if it was true or not. What does it matter if we change a few words, where's the harm if it makes us feel good? It was a worrying trend back then, and I can see now I was right to be worried.
