But onwards: I think you're probably right, that this censorship is has to do with RFK's bid. And it also suggests to me that RFK is a more viable candidate than the MSM and Big Tech would have us think. Like you, I refuse to buy the blue check. It goes beyond just not wanting to give Musk more data. I've always despised the "blue check elite" and the thought of joining it turns my stomach. Evidently I'm paying a price for my obstinacy: my follower count hasn't moved up in almost a year (after rocketing from 3K to 11K in a few weeks, possibly months) My engagement is in the crapper. The overall Twitter experience was much better before Elon. On all those points I agree.
Unlike you, I am not a *true* fighter. I defend the truth and I'm not afraid of confrontation but I don't have even a fraction of your energy to fight. My Substack has been languishing and - at present, at least - I no longer have any use for it. All my energy goes into fighting my constant anxiety and profound ennui. Not enough left to be actively involved in any kind of fight, much less one of these epic proportions.

Well it's not much of a town square if citizens don't participate in it. That's my take, and why I walked away from Twitter a long time ago (my account was under another name). Another reason (among several) that I walked away from it is that its algos make it addictive by design, and this fractures one's ability to focus. It was ruining hours I would have prefered to use for my own writing. Literally, the brain needs to heal from spending time on Twitter. Also, it finally dawned on me that although I might have had many thousands of followers on my Twitter account, more likely than not, sparse few of those people were actually even able, never mind willing, to read my books. I also suspect that a substantial number of my followers were just bots. Finally, there was plenty going on communication-wise before Twitter, plenty going on right now, and there will always be something new. Thanks for being here on Substack.

I wasn't impressed with Elon's "improvements" at all. I was given 3 strikes and was out. I wasn't informed as to why. The set up is still lefties get to call you every degenerate name in their lexicon and if you don't let then you get the axe. I miss Twitter but I sure don't like the chronic respecter-of-persons attitude that Elon has. I'm so glad to have found you on Twitter, though. Eff that bird. I can state my multiple bans on FB pleased me, amused me, enraged me, and ultimately brought The Journal of Lingering Sanity to Substack. Do I expect a corporation profits sponsoring free speech unless they are a large and lovely cafe whose denizens are erudite, intelligent, open minded and dining on deserts, dishes, drinking beer tea wine or coffee and talking as they while away the time not overthrowing everything right now?
