Thoughtful read. I've been teaching about transhumanism this past semester and appreciate your take. It is the biggest existential threat we face as a species. All that nanotech that's already in our bodies. Sad. If you aren't already aware of Elana Freeland, you might enjoy her series of books dealing with transhumanism.

Thank you. I know just a little bit about Elana Freeland, have heard a few interviews. Will look into her further. Transhumanism is fascinating and I think hard to fathom for us who are not way up the food chain.

Thank you Karen. I enjoyed your article very much. I wonder if you have any thoughts about how to educate the younger generation about the dangers of following these ‘false’ gods? I would submit that if this does not happen, then humanity is on a one way street to digital slavery.

Thank you so much for writing, and thinking, and being you! I particularly love the section which explains about "reading Chinese Media upside down" as I am living and teaching in China at present. I am a fan!

Interesting! I taught online in China for a number of years. Very interesting experience. Really loved my students. Amazingly disciplined and focused. I felt the extreme pressure on them to succeed and the competition. Anyone who has lived under communism understands that quote. It's hard for Westerners to get it, that's why it's important to help them understand although for many people, I think it goes over their heads.

I think I understand what you are saying and these are indeed dark times but overall I'm optimistic. There is a light on the horizon that grows increasingly brighter and that light is the rising rays of a new culture. If you can see the darkness you are part of that light.

Keep that optimism coming, Professor. We need it. I am ambivalent about transhumanism, there's so much none of us understand and maybe, as I said, this is a necessary step forward, who can say? I hope we can retain our humanity. It has never worked out well for humans to play god. Thanks for being here, always appreciate your thoughtful comments.

I really enjoyed your article and feel most of your message is spot on. I do believe your take on Bitcoin is slightly skewed and would like to offer clarity. Bitcoin was invented by anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto which was in response to the 2008 recession and “Banks are too big to fail”. Bitcoin is peer to peer and takes the banks, massive reach, out of the equation. POW is the only option for a truly decentralized currency. Bitcoin and Decentralized Finance could be our only hope against the immortals you speak of. The Fed and Central Banks want to smash it by over-regulation. They are trying to demonize POW mining by pushing the Global Warming argument though over 50 percent of energy used is renewable energy. Bitcoin Miners seek renewable energy due to lower electricity costs. In my humble opinion we lose all if Bitcoin is compromised. Bitcoin is math and code and doesn’t give two shits about anyone’s political identity. I trust a Decentralized currency over money run and controlled by the wealthy elites and Politicians any day. Thank you

Thank you for your overview of Bitcoin. I am not an expert in this area. I would be more than happy for all you say to be true. I suppose we will see, moving forward, how it all plays out. Thank you for reading.

If any crypto survives it would be the Satoshi Nakamoto branch and/or Ripple.

Top notch writing and thinking, Karen. Especially the part on media literacy from an Eastern perspective. The West could use more of that (thinking about media "upside down").

I'm staying optimistic, a lot of the world seem to be waking up (a little slow for my taste) more and more everyday. I can't let my kids grow up in that kind of world and I imagine many others feel the same. I just wonder why so many seem blind to it all? Even if you show them videos of people outright talking about their plans they refuse to see it....

You're absolutely right to ask this question. I address it in my new essay, https://khmezek.substack.com/p/too-stupid-to-live

excellent article. thank you. at first I wanted to say, "how could we have known" Then I realized that we did know what was happening and continued to let it happen. Orwell.... Rachel Carson... and on and on. all this should not be a surprise. it is a logical conclusion to allowing monopolies. human beings are not very good at control/power.

This is the mystery we don't want to address. The problem of power. It is a human flaw.

Amazing article! You are truly a gem! 🇨🇦 If only more people would read this and understand what is actually happening. I am afraid it is going to get worse before better. The bible says that this life will not be easy. The light or the freedom that we will wait patiently for will be in heaven. God will prevail. I love reading your articles. Thank you very much!

Transgenderism, transhumanism, they need to break the link between mother and child, the birth, life, death cycle. They want to break the natural world and call it conservation. Great piece of writing, thank you.

Thank you. Yes, this topic used to be "conspiracy theory" or the stuff of science fiction. It really fascinates me. It's sad to think all these beautiful connections that make us human might fall away.

Very insightfull..let no body be confused by the so called gods of tech and pestilence, the powers being used are not human..remain human, therein lies the real original power

Your essays are insightful and aligned with what I’ve discovered in my own research to understand what’s happening in the world, Karen. Thank you! In a document I came across, released by WHO to member states - “Digital Documentation of COVID-19 Certificates: Technical Specifications and Implementation Guidance” for the global vaccine passport system, they refer to “Natural People” and “Legal People”… my guess, those refer to those un-injected with mRNA/DNA gene therapy jabs (Natural) and the vaxxed (Legal; patentable/transhuman). Have you read that doc? Dated Aug 27, 2021. Have a PDF copy and happy to share. Related to transhumanism, the Canadian Government published this piece about B/CI (Brain/Cloud Interface)… distopian: https://horizons.gc.ca/en/2020/02/11/exploring-biodigital-convergence/

Great piece, as usual, Karen. Everything begins and ends with compliance and submission. As Alexander Solzhenitsyn correctly observed about America: "I understand you're tired. But your enemies, the Communists, NEVER get tired" We are tired country, exhausted by plenty, made sleepy by our "smart" phones that pound our brains into stupidity. We are even tired of this thing called "freedom" which everyone wants but no one understands. We're tired of it; perhaps it would be better to let go of it and let someone else do the heavy lifting. Americans love to watch movies about serial killers and they vaguely those monsters are driven by a dark evil. But we have NO idea...NO idea about the evils of China, North Korea, Iran and their ilk. We only understand comfort, and the easy living that has made us more tired and more stupid.

One of my stepdaughters was visiting from California. I recommended a cheap car rental agency (truthfully, she couldn't afford anything else) She shot me down. "I'm not renting a Honda Civic!" She ended up renting a Mercedes SUV. She laughed when I pointed out how wasteful that was: "I'm a stupid young American. Only the best, baby"

And now, since we don't believe in evil (not really) and since government agencies must of course (of course!) have our welfare in mind, we become submissive, limp, compliant. This freedom thing is just SO tiring. I mean, how bad can the Chinse system possibly be? Look at them build skyscrapers in four weeks while we're fixing one stretch of an interstate for two years? As the Clown Child Prime Minister of Canada once said: "I have a certain admiration for the Chinese dictatorship. They can really get things done" They sure can, Justin, they sure can. And they build excellent re-education camps too. You'll be using them in your country soon.

Rust never sleeps. Neither should we

long. but excellent. quick comment, Karen: I believe all the talk and promotion of 21 genders and transgednerism is not just a great boondoggle for pharma cos (on meds for life if you want to be trans); but is a set up for the cyborgs. The transhumans. Half human, half machine. If you dont like them, youre phobic. Youre afraid. And because of this, we have to put you away. I dont know how that plays out. But I am reminded of Battlestar Galactica...
