It is so dystopian and its victims so brainwashed to only call out for more in their unshakable belief that they are part of something good and noble in the annals of human progress. Their minds are in cages, and as Aldous Huxley said so well, they welcome their prison walls rather than even attempt to cast off the invisible chains they've been trained to accept.
