We have reached a fork in the road. Today is a black day for the country. We are now officially a Banana Republic. This video shows us the two options ahead.

Wow, unbelievable. Or rather, sadly believable.

As far as I understand it, the article is saying if you support things like allowing illegal immigrants into the country, then please don't vote.

Expand full comment

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I misunderstood the article's point.

I sometimes can be a little slow.

I'm sorry.

No worries. It's also challenging for me as I do my best to read all the comments but I also sometimes miss things.

I agree we have reached a fork in the road. I would not judge anyone for exercising their freedom to vote or not to vote.

"Trump found guilty on all 34 felony charges. Is this the end of our Republic?" No, that is certainly not the "...end of [your] Republic", but it should be a wake up call to many that there is something fundamentally flawed in the US "justice system" -- and, by extension, likely in the "justice systems" of most, if not all, western nations.

Even though I am a CA attorney, I don't practice so I never knew of the names of judges on the ballots and declined to vote for anyone. A couple of years ago, a friend and I decided to sit down and go through the list. There were very few credible legal scholars. Instead, candidates proudly announced their allegiance to redistributive justice theories. Such theories are frightening because they are arbitrary. Arbitrariness leads to instability. The only certainty you have of being selected for a crime is your status - are you in a disfavored group? I finally picked up Kafka's The Trial. I could only get halfway through because its madness is displayed daily in the US. But the Republicans opened this Pandora's Box with Kenneth Starr going after Clinton. Clinton is a disgrace but I knew then this was going to lead to something dark just like I knew hate crime enhancements were going to unleash thought police.

You are so right about Kenneth Star. And Kafka is the perfect writer to quote. Also, The Castle speaks to our times.

Great recommendation. Thank you.

Me think Trump will "win" because the machine wants that outcome. Why? They know the economy will crash with 30 plus trillion in debt. So..... Rather than crash under Biden, better under Trump so they can claim "Trump's fault." Then, by extension, say capitalism is the problem and then usher in full-blown corporate communism like China. Just a theory!

That is quite possible. My fear is it's too late, there is no way now to stop this runaway train. Trump can't magically fix everything. His followers think there will be a miracle so imagine their disillusionment when everything still falls apart. Also, as I've said in previous articles, the country is so divided, there is so much hate, I worry that whichever side wins, they will seek revenge on the other side. No matter what, it's not going to get better. I wish I could be more optimistic.

I relish your key comment: "His followers think there will be a miracle so imagine their disillusionment when everything still falls apart." To me each side is a pawn in the Hegelian Dialectic, and they have no idea. And thus, I also refuse to be in the muddy middle!

Absolutely.

He will win because it is scheduled to happen. Nobody gets to be president unless he does the bidding of Wall Street, the Surveillance State and the Military-Industrial-Intelligence-Pharma Complex. How can anyone support the guy who deployed Operation Warp Speed? The felony charges are a ruse to foment outrage and increase his support. These psychopaths are never held accountable for their crimes. The 2-party paradigm is fake. George Carlin was right. Choice isn't real.

I am certainly not a fan of Trump’s personality but he is no fool. I think Democrats are moving him closer and closer to victory with their unlawful biased shenanigans. Yes, the Overton Window got pushed by Kenneth Starr but now it is nearly gone. Crazy times

I am conflicted about Trump. And I have some things I could write in connection to Star but no time for it all!

I am way more conflicted about Biden’s policies than Trump’s. I don’t go after their personalities, too late. High quality people don’t go to politics any more - as you said, way too divided, too much animosity and distrust. Hard to be productive in such crazy times

Hi Karen,

I was talking to one of my children about Trump and they made the point of why are we defending someone who cheated on his pregnant wife. I thought about it for a bit and replied that the reason this is not good is because our western democracies are based on deferring some judgements to God. In the case of adultery it is not a legal matter but a moral and ethical matter one which will eventually if not repented of lead to God's holy judgement. But we as a society draw a line of the length we go to in judging other peoples morality. As people have said you cannot legislate morality.

I believe that the line can be drawn and it shows where legal matters stop and where ethical matters begin. Better minds than myself can draw that line but basically if the state starts moving into judging ethics the state is starting to replace God.

I felt the same way about Clinton as well. Yes he was a creep but it was well known when he was voted in.

Finally there is also this conflict between law courts and popularly elected governments. The message coming loud and clear from the elites is this, if you vote for someone we don't like we will make them pay. A bit like changing the rules in the middle of the game.

Anyway some initial thoughts, I am sure 1000s of words will be written about this.

Anyone who gets to that level of power didn't get there by being a nice person, so all this hatred toward Trump is quite hypocritical and manufactured so that half the country is completely obsessed with their hatred of him--and half the country is completely obsessed with hatred of Biden. That said, the level of hatred and the monumental attacks he faces are beyond extreme, just unbelievable. It's all a manipulation. As Frederick R Smith suggested above, it's possible he will win and be used as a scapegoat for the upcoming collapse of the financial system, world war, etc. We've gone too far down this road to turn back now. He cannot come in and miraculously fix everything. The disillusionment of his followers will be extreme. I've always said, whoever wins, it will because they've been allowed to win. I don't put my trust in men, but in God.

I will tell my kids, all politicians are tools, let’s just get the best tools to help us. Please, now all of a sudden we have morals? What a joke.

it's sad but true--they ALL cheated (those that didn't want to were blackmailed inta doin' so)--both Kennedy Boys (an' not just with Marilyn--many say they also ordered the hit on her an' participated that fateful day...), MLK (he often had multiple prosty-toots an' beat the heck outta 'em--he wuz violent to women...and yet...)... I think Nixon an' Truman were the only two that "tried" not ta cheat -- both had ta go to Bohemian Grove an' lord knows whut went on there...) Here in New Yawk Elliot Spitzer wuz cleanin' up the SEC (hornet's nest) an' the big boys took 'im out by plantin' a hooker that couldn't be resisted smack dab in his seat--that did it. I know from Rock n' Roll--"ladies" are literally pushed on these fella's... not innocuously either (they are...let's say..."let in"). It's both "unacceptable" an' shameful--and I'm sorry ta say -- woven inta the system...

I hear he is likely to appeal.

If his legal team thinks appealing is the right path he is in trouble.

File for mistrial, since it clearly is, and a counter suit against the “witch hunt.” If not then “you’re fired” all of them.

Seems like a clear victory for fighting back against contrived lawfare by Soros slugs.

Again you are right but I do find everybody or I should not say everybody, many many people who support Trump somehow feel the need to end any nice and supportive statements with "yes I do have a few problems with Trump"... but here's the thing next to Biden he is almost "perfect" ...especially in terms of the Border, our military, the economy, foreign policy and our Faith....we are electing our Commander in Chief not Pastor in Chief....

Since humans are a emotional animal we need to use emotional words just like they do. Licensing = permission slip, mandate = orders , government allows.... all these evoke a emotional response. I use words to evoke a rejecting of their ideology response. Nobody wants to be owned, no grown adult accepts the idea of a permission slip.

The problem is that Republicans are just as guilty of "menticide" as are the Democrats, this is why our country is so divided and polarized - as it was designed to be. Both parties are extreme and unbalanced having turned our election system into not just a sham but an outright fraud. While behind closed doors both Republicans and Democrats laugh and celebrate the antics of the useful idiots who vote them into office.

Expand full comment

I had never heard of the term menticide. I too have been critical of Trump but in this case I fully support him. The judge did not instruct the jury as to what constitutes federal election interference. If the judge had allowed the expert to testify about it, the jury would have found him not guilty. On top of that, no juror wanted to hear from their friends and family that they were the reason that he becomes the next President. This is NYC after all. We need to look beyond partisanship and look at it objectively. They just emboldened Trump supporters and pushed more Independents to vote for him. I'm sure he will appeal and that will take a year. What a colossal waste of time. This was their weakest case. What a stain on our judiciary system. Thanks for posting. I hope more and more ppl will come to understand. sabrinalabow.substack.com
