The glories of communism. We're beginning to experience it first hand in the US.

Ms Hunt, you are a true warrior, standing up for Truth, Goodness, and Light.

I was just visualizing you aiding my escape from a North Dakotan gulag. I know, crazy imagination . . .🕉️

Thank you for this essay, Karen. Your family's adventure might not have been as exciting as Katie's, but it certainly has given you insight into the loss of our freedom. One thing: I think the church in the first photo is actually Church on Spilled Blood in Leningrad/Petersburg.

Yes, you're right about the church. Thanks.

Mark Crispin Miller linked Putin's translated speech. There was much to agree with even if it seemed to skip Stalin's unparallelled ruthlessness/bloodiness and expansion ambitions that he did achieve. As horrific as that period was, it was only a blink of an eye for Russian history. Our history so far has only been a blink of an eye. The framers taking the best of enlightened philosophy put us on an honorable road. Abolitionists and early civil rights leaders understood this and appealed to our higher order to achieve its ambitions for all. At a recent event a presenter (a doctor) said we have already lost our country. We are fighting to get it back. I think the doc was right and especially in CA where everything feels chaotic and on the verge of breaking down.

Yes, I linked to his speech too in my essay From Putin's Mouth to Your Ears. I only quoted the first part of the speech. https://khmezek.substack.com/p/from-putins-mouth-to-your-ears

My friends and I love your writing. You blend philosophy, common sense and history. Hoping you do a podcast with Heather Heying. I think it would be fascinating

That would be fascinating.

You are wreathed in goodness. In this overcrowded world, you have carved out for yourself this shining niche--it knocks me out.

Totally unconnected, but I would just like to draw people's attention to the fact that the chemical signature of carbon is 666. When I found THAT out, it knocked me out, too. I find it odd, to say the least, that this rather pertinent fact is not more widely disseminated . . .

Anyway, God bless you, Karen.

Will you be republishing your books. Would love them for my grandchildren.

I would love to, if a publisher came forward to do it. I've never self-published a book but I would if I had five minutes extra time.
