Who amplified the stale documentation for the past 80 years?. Have you read any documents that have been found over this period of time that have been banned from publication? "This is what we told you - believe it and shut up." As an example the German White Paper (based on papers found in Poland during it's occupation) that sheds light on those who had the mind-set to level Germany and it's people.. By all means keep believing the documentation you have put your faith in. I'll continue to read revisionist documents that stick to our history because you may not have come to the realization that our nation's history is being revised by the current administration, their puppet media, the spoiled brats who have no stomach for what we grew up with and think that they are going to destroy our history, our heritage, and our culture. Bugger them!!!

Thank you for sharing your story. I lived in West Germany during the Cold War. My family traveled to West Berlin via train. We had to travel at night, keep all the shades drawn, and were told not to look out the windows.

We visited East Berlin on an arranged tour. It was the Paris of the Soviet Union. It was very beautiful and clean. The people were relentlessly cheerful. We had armed guards as escorts and were shown into approved areas and shops only. We were not allowed to talk to anyone on the street. It made an impression on me, and not a good one. The undercurrent of fear was palpable.

Today's youth are playing with fire. They are the useful idiots and will be treated as such. God have mercy on us all.

Amazing to have had that experience and a child. Was you father a diplomat or something? We traveled to East Berlin and I will never forget it. It was terrifying.

Good story for a Sunday afternoon.

I’m getting kinda short in the tooth, but believe there’s still time to live a few more good tales and pass them along to someone. The best ones may have to be on the other side in the next age. There will be ALOT of that sort of sharing, you know.

Your references to your older sister always crack me up. I can relate as I was a rotten oldest sibling in my youth.

I would have used the vampire card too, lol.

What did Janna do when she grew up?

Thanks as always for sharing your family stories. You were all brave warriors for our Lord and you still are.

Haha, you were the one! I always thought Janna would end up the writer, but at any rate, she sure inspired me. She taught me about storytelling and set an example with a love of books. She worked as an administrator at Cedars Sinai Hospital and then married a wonderful Jewish guy and had two beautiful children. Sadly, she passed away from breast cancer, goodness, it must be ten years ago now. I can't believe it. I miss her every day.

Hello, Karen, I never tire of these stories. Nor the photos. Big ears, all of you!

"This is a wonderful opportunity to learn to trust in Him.” Oh, man! Isn't this the whole crux of the matter! After 65 years, I'm still learning this--what a wonderful God He is!

Thanks, another great read to cap my Sunday.

I love this story so much because again it clarifies and crystalizes what's going on in this country how evil it is and in my opinion we've crossed the Rubicon down that slippery slope there is no going back I cling to the scripture that your father so Faithfully taught we are looking up now for our Redemption draweth nigh keep your eyes on Israel everybody that is the prophecy time clock and it's almost midnight....maranatha!!

He didn't mention much about it except in passing in his talks. My mom kept meticulous journals, however, which she gave to me before her death, and we had many conversations over the years. I guess it was left to me to write about it. 🙂

"Roosevelt believed Stalin. It was America who allowed communism to take over in Europe.”

Every single Czech person knows this to be true. Patton's army was 60 miles west of Prague in the town of Plzen (Pilsen in English - yes, that's where the ORIGINAL beer comes from) His advance reconnaissance units were on the outskirts of Prague. Truman caved to Stalin's demands and Eisenhower ordered Patton to retreat back to the German border. A similar situation existed in Poland where the British were adamant about pushing the Red Army out but by March/April 1945 it was too late. Because Czechoslovakia had been in the western orbit prior to WW2, we were allowed three extra years of freedom. The official communist coup d'etat didn't take place until 1948.

Romania was a horrible dump. We traveled through there in 1963 on a trip to the Black Sea in Bulgaria (which was very nice for a 10 year old boy who had never seen an ocean) Romania is the scariest place I've ever been to. I'm told it's somewhat improved - just a tad. Please read the book "The Un-humans" about the communist takeover of Romania. The horror will stay with you for weeks.

Your father was a MENSCH! Bless his soul 🙏❤️

FDR was actually a communist in sheep's clothing. He adored Stalin to the point of providing him with a lend lease program BEFORE WWII. Stalin had thousands of tanks manufactured for the take over of Europe (as was Alexander the Great's aim). Fortunately, Hitler knew what Stalin was planning and invaded Russia to stop him. It cost Hitler his country's demise because his plea for help for England fell on deft ears, yet he stopped Stalin's plan. Still, after 80 years we have "Hitler was a bad boy" shoved down our gullets. Don't believe this? Stop sucking up the Politically Correct (PC) version and get acquainted with the non-PC history that is being taken from us over the years.

Expand full comment

So Hitler was a good boy because he stopped the truly bad boy? Seeing Hitler for the monster he was is not PC. It's amply documented. Of course, Stalin’s horrors are equally well documented and it looks like he may have equalled or surpassed Hitler in mass butchery. That doesn't mean Hitler wasn't an antisemitic genocidal maniac.

we are so fortunate to have had some incredible dad's ... and moms

I cared for my oldsters for the past 11 years and I was with them in their last hours.

Both times, I got in bed with them and told them how much I loved them and how lucky I was to have such incredible parents that gave me the very best life - truly a gift.

I assured them that I would think of them every day. I do miss them

I am beginning to truly believe that. I’m currently reading A People’s Tragedy by Orlando Figes, a comprehensive history of the Russian Revolution. The parallels are horrifyingly similar. Only halfway through, but I have a much more visceral reaction to anything that smacks of Marxism.

And now I’m off to read more of your tales. This account was harrowing but exhilarating—and your storytelling style is riveting. Have you published a memoir yet?

Incorrect. It's here already. It just hasn't taken on its worst form yet. But it's here. Once the education system is as degraded and indoctrinated as ours is, it's curtains

"it's curtains" so true ....for a funny analogy/statement

where does that come from? I have never used it but always think it is funny hahaha

just looked it up: The phrase indicates a finality, and may simply mean that you are going to be caught for a transgression and sent to jail, or that an enterprise will not come to a satisfactory ending. The idiom it's curtains for you was popularized in American films concerning gangsters in the 1920s and 1930s.

Expand full comment

I believe its origins are in the theater. The protagonist speaks the last line - and the script below reads: "Curtains"

The end. Finito. Gone

That's a good question. Perhaps because it isn't an actual obvious wall, it's more devious? I don't know.

I read Orwell's 1984 when I was about 13 and I expected to see it happen in my life here in USA. I believe we are seeing it. The people in helicopters spying in windows are the drones being used today. Soon we will be forced to buy with CBDCs. Banks are shutting down branches all over. The culture is degrading terribly. The scamdemic was training for us all in how to live in Totalitarianism.
