I trust all my American friends had a happy and healthy 4th of July. Our family had a great time barbequing and watching fireworks in a park just across the street from friends, so we had perfect seats without worrying about the crowds. As I looked across the sea of families who had come together to watch the show, I felt quite emotional, wondering what the future holds for our nation.

As a follow-up to my discussion with Rick, tragically, in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, 6 people were killed and 38 others were injured. This marks the 309th mass shooting in the U.S. in 2022, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as four or more shot or killed, not including the shooter.
