I also think your assessment of Gates is a little generous. He has not one likeable trait, and not one endearing feature. He is blatantly a wolf in wolfs clothing, blowing down doors of reasonability and rationality. So what about Musk? imho he's something of an adult idiot savant. His utterances on Twitter are juvenile, he is an unashamed poser and every aspect of his public persona screams - I am not an adult! The one character I could compare him to is Balthazar Bratt, the kid from Despicable Me. I know that film because I watched it with my kids in Hong Kong=). or perhaps he sees himself as a C21 Gatsby?? Either way, i'm pretty sure he's a front-man illusionist, look at me, but don't look into who/what is behind the stage.

it makes perfect sense to see EM obsessed with destroying bots in his recent tweet. bot-free pure raw human conversations/thoughts will only do to feed the neuralink apparatus. twitter is a repository of human consciousness...it is worth more than $44B!

Neuralink is a war inspired power trip and DARPA uses Musk as PR to hype interest in this research. If Elon truly believes in this technology he should put his money where his mouth is and be the first person to stick his head in the helmet of his new robotic chip plunging machine, (model himself after the Wright brothers). I don't think it's right to prey on stupid people to get them to volunteer for this procedure with the hope of becoming superhuman, or hooked up to a network, or whatever. But, with that said, I do give him credit for buying twitter, if it's because he wants to make it a platform for free speech. Without free speech, I think our civilization is doomed. We are living in a very strange world, today. I really think intelligence has run its course and more innovation, scientific discoveries, and data collection will make everything worse. Every new discovery just falls down into the belly of the war machine, the belly of the beast. Not to mention all the people that researchers have to kill to learn a tiny bit of information. RNA is 4 billion years old - I think men are just on a killing spree and hiding behind science. What else could it be? What else could explain expert scientists not making any common sense at all, and being so reckless with everybody's health. There is a long history of killing for money in human males.
Immortality is for the jellyfish. Why would you rather have your consciousness be stuck forever in a predictable fantasy and not go on bravely into the unknown, into the next big adventure?
Oh, and one more thing….Subconsciously, he may be on a crusade to get back at the bullies from his childhood….thoughts of turning them into robots.😆 He has already shown them up financially. NOW, who has all the marbles?😉

It seems to me that so many will grasp st the slightest glimmer of hope. And Musk offers that if you ignore all the warning of ulterior motives. I have two personal rules: 1. Ignore what people say and watch what they do. 2. Put principles before personalities.
