Thoughtfully written. Thank you for sharing. I haven’t read words like yours, Karen, that affect me to change my thinking for the better since I can remember.

I will save and re-read this from time to time, I’m sure.

With all the articles I’ve read these past 2 years, this essay of yours has been the best. It made me think at my core about what’s good and what’s evil and how we respond. Our thoughts and our actions matter more than we are aware. Thanks for helping my inner vision begin to try to see more around and beyond.

Challenging times. Opportunities to be our best.

Thank you for writing this and sharing your experiences. In education we have to teach our children to act out of their convictions, no matter what others do. Warn them about groupthink, especially if you have a wrong gut feeling about it. Encourage them to become confident. But, it has to be based on the right convictions, the right foundation. To me that is the Bible. And it is upsetting to hear people misusing the Bible as a ground for racism. The Bible is clear: we are all one human race. Be patient. Be kind. And always speak the truth. When the Bible is jettisoned as basis, you'll have no idea what you get.
