With all the articles I’ve read these past 2 years, this essay of yours has been the best. It made me think at my core about what’s good and what’s evil and how we respond. Our thoughts and our actions matter more than we are aware. Thanks for helping my inner vision begin to try to see more around and beyond.
Thank you for writing this and sharing your experiences. In education we have to teach our children to act out of their convictions, no matter what others do. Warn them about groupthink, especially if you have a wrong gut feeling about it. Encourage them to become confident. But, it has to be based on the right convictions, the right foundation. To me that is the Bible. And it is upsetting to hear people misusing the Bible as a ground for racism. The Bible is clear: we are all one human race. Be patient. Be kind. And always speak the truth. When the Bible is jettisoned as basis, you'll have no idea what you get.
What I don't understand is those who didn't believe the lies about covid are hanging onto every word of the same msm reporting on the war. Personally, I don't know what to believe except we have no idea what's behind it, and none of them are wearing white hats.
I do know the reality IS that Russia postured up, well armed, and ruthlessly attacked another sovereign country for no reason - specifically attacking schools and maternity hospitals? WHO does this other than a madman? The evidence is there. I feel rather dysphoric that I share emotions with hard-core leftists on this one subject; But this IS actually going on and it doesn't make me a neo-nazi to want to help the UKR fight back.
Interesting note: The US was Allies w/ Russia in WW II! But old Warhorse, General Patton, deeply (and rightfully) distrusted Stalin and vociferously urged Wa. D.C to stay in Europe and keep a close eye on him. Wa. D.C. ignored Patton, of course.
The back history reveals Russia's reasoning. They are concerned that Ukraine will become a member of NATO, and western influence will put weapons on their border. That is just as unacceptable to Russia as if Russia tried to put weapons on the Mexican border aimed at the US. The US government stated in the Monroe Doctrine that such acts are war provocations.
There is more to the story and a lot of history between the two countries. Europe and the US have been involved in machinations in these affairs for years, and bear some responsibility for the current conflict. Those entities were involved in an overthrow of the duly elected in 2015. Ukraine itself as had much internal unrest for years, including atrocities against Russian speakers in principalities nearer the Russian border. There are Neo Nazi military branches reminiscent of Germany Brown Shirts that proudly display the swastika.
It appears to me that reality and truth are not as clear as you protray. I am on the side of the people who are caught up in a terrible situation that was created by a number of governments that are being guided by sinister reasons, all relating to money and power.

excellent essay... there is really a difference between the ‘Elites’ including Ford & Spielberg who monetize the tragic plight of observant Jewish people... they (Elites) are ALL atheist ... if they were sincere in service to God they would have forgone the profits... they are not sincere... actions speak louder than words... meow.
if Spielberg is such a principled guy, how come we haven’t heard him loudly & adamantly speak out in opposition to the current ‘crimes against humanity’... just wondering

I read your article - and..... I'm a little confused. Not exactly sure where all you were going with this. It's a long, sweeping article - very expansive. It covers MANY subjects over extensive time, but..... I still haven't grasped your point.

I made it as far as your picture of you and your family in the late 60's. There, I felt like I was starting a whole new article.
Ultimately, I am left feeling uncomfortable with you calling the Ukraine, or the USA, Neo-Nazi's. I would feel comfortable with you calling either of these governments a bunch of Kleptocrats - But that cover's Putin's regime also! So they are ALL of the same stripes.

P.S. We ALL know Sean Penn is a horse's hind-end. Truly not worth mentioning! Although his mention ANYWHERE most likely fuels his only reason to live. Penn is a Hollyweird narcissist to the 10th Power, who, like Putin, and many 60-70 year old men, is NOT going into his Golden Years gracefully.
