I was messaged by a reader who was offended that I had called Kyle Rittenhouse a “white supremacist.” I went back and read what I had written and realized it could be construed that way—which was not my intention. I’ve made the correction. But for all of you, if you read it in the email rather than on my Substack page, you will get the original version. Just don’t want any misunderstanding. Thanks!
Well, this is a abut if a nightmare for me. I finished the essay at 4 am and finally slept. Then realized when a reader messaged me the disaster. Then took me a while to realize that even though I had corrected it on my Substack all my subscribers wouldn't see the corrected version. Thus the above message. Thanks everyone!
Hello Karen, Yes, I was offended also, and thought of unsubscribing. “We cannot let our spirits die.” Odd that this sentence is in the same essay as calling Kyle a ‘white supremacist’. He is a young man who has spirit. He is a fire cadet, a trained EMT, a nursing student, and obviously idealistic. I agree with Susanna. It’s not construed. You were uninformed. You should have watched the Tucker Carlson interview to get the whole story. Possibly you wrote the essay before the airing. Your writings are vastly entertaining. Your wording fascinating. I would hate to quit you, but if the CA sun has affected your open mind, come to the Midwest. Kyle went to his Dad’s town of Kenosha to extinguish fires and administer aid to the wounded if need be…..which was given to antifa. Yes, he was armed, but he suspected it would be dangerous. He supports BLM as a believer in fairness for all, even though he is misinformed on that one. Be that as it may, best to you and Thank You for sharing your talent with us.
was censored/banned from Twitter and accused of promoting violence/genocide against a subset (did not specify) of the population for one tweet in support of Kyle after watching the facts as presented in the trial. after kyle’s aquittal I was curious if my account would be reinstated...no, they demanded that i delete / self-censor my tweet ... REFUSE!🐱
Haha very true! You cannot imagine the lovely terms I've been called, such as a pasty-faced plague-ridden Karen, because, yes, I even have that name. At the end of the day, I'm not beholden to anyone. I speak my mind, but if I need to make it clearer, I'm happy to do so. And I will always listen to opposing views if they are respectful. Lots of times it doesn't matter what you say, you can live a life of honesty and integrity, but if people decide to think of you in a certain way there is nothing you can do about it. So I just keep moving forward.
I, too, was quite surprised when I read the email this morning. I forwarded it to others with the qualification that I agreed with everything you essayed except that paragraph about Kyle. I had just begun following you and subscribed to your email blog and was taken aback as well.
Thank you for the clarification. I was taken aback as well. I am a recent subscriber and have enjoyed reading through your archives. I’m glad to have found you!
Hi Karen, I appreciate this clarification as I was disturbed by that comment as well, and am thankful that you've taken the time to correct it. However, I think I'd be remiss if I didn't say that I don't think it could just be "construed" that way - that seemed to be pretty much exactly what you were saying. My apologies if I've misunderstood, but I think it's important as people of truth who are committed to integrity and honesty to admit our mistakes - and I'm not saying this to put you down as I admire you greatly and we all make mistakes (me pretty much every day). Thanks for all that you do and keep writing.
No, you can have your opinion but I wrote it and in no way intended it to be read as people did. I am very particular about my writing and research. If I have made a mistake I have no problem correcting it. I am not a liar so I hope you will accept what I have said exactly as it is intended. You can peruse all of my writings and go through my Tweets after the trial where I was very happy with the outcome. Thank you for reading. I appreciate it. I will keep writing ❤️
Wellll, I read it in the original, and I disagreed with it and what you were saying. But,then again, I also disagreed with other points you made. Still, I can't say I was offended or angry or thought of unsubscribing. I did take another sip of my coffee and thought "She sure writes well,if somewhat too powerfully for early Sunday morning." No one can ever accuse you of being too subtle.
Haha, well said. I will always speak my mind. If I make a mistake in how I speak I want to correct it, I'm humble like that lol. However, it's impossible to agree on everything and like you said, we should not have to, we can respect our differences. There was a time when people enjoyed a healthy debate. I love having readers that challenge me as I hope my writing challenges them. Thank you!
Okay, but if we are opposed to all the lies and manipulation we should not begin to use their propaganda words and terminology. Our enemies globally define a 'white supremacist' as anyone opposed to their agendas - so a black Christian conservative is a 'white supremacist' in their parlance.
Also there is no 'pandemic' or 'covid' - we shouldn't accede to that tyrannical narrative.
What word would you suggest rather than covid? I address this topic of the importance of words in my essay Empire of Deceit. https://khmezek.substack.com/p/empire-of-deceit. Short excerpt below:
We adults represent the last connection to the Old Ways. Our children bridge the gap between reality and the virtual world. Once we are gone, that connection will die with us. The children of the future will live and breathe the metaverse. Reality will have become the illusion.
I cannot emphasize enough: buy an old dictionary. Buy a Bible, or other religious texts that are of your tradition. Buy books, actual books that you and your children can hold in your hands to remind you of what is real. Because the written word is forever. It cannot be altered. That is why books are banned and burned.
The CDC’s definition of vaccine used to be: “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease.”
It is now: “A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”
There is no more promise of protection. Perhaps one day any reference to a body’s immune system will disappear completely. Our great grandchildren will have no knowledge that such a truth ever existed.

Please read on Substack the clarified version. I repeat info not think Kyle Rittenhouse is a white supremacist.

Karen, Thqnks for clarifying. Probably should not have been necessary but just in case, for those who....and all that. Good thinking
Thank you. This caused me some consternation!
I understood what you meant. But thanks for clarifying, some people must not have enough to do
Haha, 😊
We know your heart.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you for the clarification! 😁

I did wonder about that while reading the email version. Thanks for clarifying.
