As a follow up to my essay yesterday, The attempted assassination of Robert Fico reminds me of Archduke Franz Ferdinand--and we all know how that turned out, the first thing I see in my newsfeed this morning is the attack on the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen by an “unknown assailant”.

Danish Minister of Environment Magnus Heunicke called for national unity after the attack, saying everyone has a responsibility to look after each other regardless of “political disagreements, election campaigns.”

Remember, as I wrote in a previous essay, 2024 is the “Ultimate Election Year”, as described by Time, with more elections happening in countries around the world than any other time in modern history.

National elections are scheduled or expected in at least 64 countries, as well as the European Union, which all together represent almost half the global population.

This will culminate in the US presidential elections in November described by the Economist as “the biggest danger to the world” of 2024: former President Donald Trump securing a second term.

Oh, and about the “biggest danger to the world,” Donald Trump …

It’s just been reported that New York Supreme Court notified Judge Merchan that the cousin of a juror (Michael Anderson) in Trump’s trial posted the verdict on Facebook a day BEFORE the verdict was given.

Could this mean a mistrial?

Or is it just more “fake news?”

We increasingly get the sense that no one is really in charge; everything is spiraling out of control. This is the overall message being conveyed to the world, meant to keep everyone on edge—and with good reason.

But there is some good news. Amazingly good news.

Israel says it has rescued four hostages held in Gaza, including Noa Argamani, whose image captured all of our minds as she was filmed being taken away by Hamas terrorists on the back of a motorcycle. You can watch the news here:
