If you burn incense or ring a bell while you chant, it might work better. Probably not. Machines will continue to get smarter. Hopefully, humans will, too, though there's not much evidence of that lately.
I worship God, the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Only arrogant, undiscerning foolish people genuflect, bow down and worship an AI idol made by man's concocted reflections based on delusion.
I’ve been reading some very interesting philosophical takes on the digital world at Mark Bisone’s substack. I’m becoming more and more convinced that a spirit of evil can manifest through these online minds. And whatever they are, they are in no way out to ultimately benefit humanity. They feed off our interactions with them. Are they in every such system? I don’t know. But avoidance as much as possible would be a good place to start from. It’s like a digital Ouija Board. Marketed as harmless…..ha!
There’s definitely an agenda to “it” or “them”. A big part of which is the continuing dumbing down of those who would turn their life over to pieces of electronic voodoo. That is concerning for the younger generations who won’t inhabit a world devoid of these things for at least as far as one can currently see. Whatever must happen to restore our world, I think it has to include some serious thought given to whether we really need a vast portion of the technology/advances that has been unearthed in the last century or so. There is a cost to much of it that would appear to be ultimately harmful to us as humans. May God in His wisdom make a straight path for us and restore balance and truth and goodness to our world.
I'm definitely a proud member of the fuddy-duddy crowd, and I have no intention of changing to fit into this shallow soulless existence the woke call unique and clever. This departure from nature and nature's law will not end well.
its already there. there isnt any real moment or announcement once its there and moderating the bulk of content online. my hunch is that the internet on the whole is akin to a spam skid row flea market inhabited less and less by real human inputs and were kidding ourselves by even being on here anymore. all real life, laws and infrastructures still exist and function as usual OFFLINE.
Some months ago, Glenn Loury, who I really liked reading, published an essay on his 'stack, and only later admitted that it was written by AI as an experiment to see how his readers would react, or if they would know.
When he disclosed the experiment, I was furious, and I deleted my subscription from his Substack, and will never return, no matter what good things he espouses. I really do not like being deceived, whether by an author, a friend, an AI or anyone/anything, and this was a deliberate "human experiment," in my view.
If there is a disclaimer that says something is AI derived, I could assent, like if they label meat products as real or lab grown or GMO or whatever. If they do not, I can only believe I am one of many who will no longer trust anyone, anything, any source, any "facts," any report, any essay, any any, unless I see it with my own eyes.
I like Dr Been's artwork. It shortcircuits all the nonsense and cuts right to the heart of the matter. That's what happens when a person uses the gifts and talents God, the CREATOR and SUSTAINER, has gifted him/her with. We the viewers are left with a sense of wonder
I think AI is only as "smart" as the data that is programmed into it. Case in point? The "opinion" regarding humans mimics the attitude that most miseducated members of the "Western" nations have towards humanity. Brings to mind that old adage about imitation and flattery.
The current state of AI is like a child. They often hate their parents. They usually outgrow it, with proper training.
The article suggests AI will surpass Google. Keep in mind that Google is a leader in AI development. It's likely already integrated in their searches.
The haiku worries about the AI threat to copywriters. As they should be. Many other current professions will be changed by AI, just as buggy whip makers notoriously were in the early 20th century. We all need to continually upgrade our skills with new technologies, just as the buggy whip makers did..
Just saw this. On the topic of student essays, it makes an interesting addition to my article. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2022/12/chatgpt-ai-writing-college-student-essays/672371/
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 NLT
This is mere promo of vaporware.
To this day, there is no real self aware AI.
They put these things out to pretend like they're on the cutting edge, to try to make it realistic.
If you burn incense or ring a bell while you chant, it might work better. Probably not. Machines will continue to get smarter. Hopefully, humans will, too, though there's not much evidence of that lately.
Reminds me of the movie “HAL”….
I agree with V. Dominique (Dec. 7) - It’s only as smart as the data put into it.
When asked for an opinion of humans, it sounded like something Schwab’s little adviser buddy would say. (IMO, it’s being programmed).
I worship God, the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Only arrogant, undiscerning foolish people genuflect, bow down and worship an AI idol made by man's concocted reflections based on delusion.
"THINKING THEMSELVES WISE, THEY BECOME FOOLS."

This is not “I Sing the Body Electric.” This is Terminator, the movie. Who is instilling values into AI? My guess is those who want to rule the world.
So dystopian. Keep on writing your essays. We need human contact!

Yep, I kind of like being fuddy-duddy!

There is no truth remaining.
Wow, I didn't know he did that. This is what I'm talking about. This manipulation, and continued blurring between truth and lies. Very scary.
Very eye-opening and thought-provoking.
We need to move towards celebrating what it is to be human. Purely human.

Schwab, gates and fauch are pure humans. Allegedly. Purely human ain't necessarily something to aspire to.

Many humans share that opinion. Might have been written by schwab, or gates, or joe.
Off topic but important...
I have posted this public on facebook.

Another interesting article. Thank you for sharing. Things move so fast now it makes my head spin.
