Just want to add a note to my latest essay, How to Become a Domestic Terrorist. I am my own editor and I make mistakes. I always go through my writing over and over and then click and publish it with a quickly beating heart. Without fail, I then go back and read it again, horrified to find even more mistakes! So frustrating. How could I have missed things that are now so obvious?
Therefore, I encourage people to go to my Substack page to read the essays instead of in the emails because what you receive is never the final version—much as I try for it to be. Thank you!
Karen, I can relate. I'm one of the doxxed GiveSendGo donors. Donated under my real name, spent some time crafting a message, the whole bit. When I heard that the details of donors had been leaked and were available for the world to view, I found the spreadsheet online and yep, there I was. I wanted to feel the glow of my fine words again so I looked at the message cell and OH MY GOD - Typos! I was more embarrassed by that than angered by the doxxing.
Karen, a few minor errors are not an issue. The value in your writings are found in the stories your weave. You allow us to travel with you as you open up the world to us! Thank you.
Karen. It’s ok. I publish all things without rereading. People can’t handle a spell check or grammatical error? They can take that up with their own perfectionism! 🤣
It’s my conviction another brain needs to be involved. Let me know if you need a reader before publishing. The mistakes look to me like a fast thinker/typist pouring it out. Your writing style is unique, so no changes needed there.
I am the typo queen. It is embarrassing but you are serving as your own editor - as everyone else who is de platformed and spending time on raising awareness in new ways. That

Oh my goodness what an experience. Horrible to be doxxed like that but hilarious your reaction. I can see I'm not alone!
You're human. Don't beat yourself up. We appreciate you. Keep the good stuff coming!
I find this to be true of mine as well. Its inevitable. To be honest, I could probably endlessly edit without being 100% satisfied.
Thanks for all that you do though!
Same here. Pressing "publish" activates dormant brain cells.
Yes, that must be it LOL
We love you Karen! Easy come Easy go!
I understand 110%
Don’t worry. We all make mistakes. We comprehend it..
Hey Karen we're not the "Twitter Grammer Police" yerkno!.....We all comprehend what you're interpreting so don't worry! We appreciate your work! x
Haha, it's so nice over here on Substack. So far so good. I hope the freedom stays because I have a few more things to say...

We are all only humans, and your mistakes are not fatal ❤️ Love your essays
I don't care about the mistakes! PLEASE keep writing!
Don't sweat the small stuff. Writers have erred for centuries.
