Until now, at what point in history have the inhabitants of these four regions ever been given the opportunity to determine their own national future? Should the government of those regions derive its just powers based upon the consent of the governed? What historical claim does the government of Ukraine have upon those regions and the people who live there? Why shouldn’t the inhabitants of those regions determine their own national future? Is it Russia or is it Ukraine which has determined that the inhabitants should have no say in their future? Aside from the Palestinians, Bosnian Muslims and the Kosovars, has the United States government and our State Department bureaucrats ever supported the principle of self-determination for any people in recent history?

Thank you for your calming words and thoughts in these incredible anxious times. I believe the people have spoken through their vote and should be left to pursue their future in Russia. It is so difficult to understand the Biden gov and their desire of war; the annihilation of people and property. A sick world we live in.

Having lived and worked 6 years in Russia I can say they are straight forward and honest in their words. Russia was my favorite country to work in. I felt more freedom their than any country I have worked or traveled in.
I watched the speech. It was an historical moment. In February Putin and Zelensky had an opportunity to discuss peace but as I understand it, Boris Johnson, then the U.K. PM, told Zelensky to back away. Johnson has American/UK dual citizenship.
If Biden or Zelensky put a military toe in those regions The bear will protect her cubs. I don’t blame him. And I say this as I live near two important military bases in the U.K.

As many of us are still recovering from the Covid nightmare we now are faced with the possibility of WWIII! In less than 2 years we are losing a nation, our humanity , health and freedom. How could we allow churches to be closed? How could we pay someone to fight Russia? Who would sabotage pipelines right before winter? And now the BTR is talking nukes! And don't forget what they are doing to our children in schools. How is this happening and with people still Okay with BTR or are they? We will not know truth - that is the scariest part.
